A little motherly gift

So a few weeks back one of my co-workers was telling me that I should figure out what I want my "pushing gift" to be. I had no clue what she was talking about and she explained that it's the gift your husband gives you for carrying and giving birth to your child.

Well, I wanted it to be something meaningful and I found it!

We are going to get it after Everly is born. It is going to have her birthstone which is Emerald (May) and I'm so excited because during this pregnancy green and blue have been my favorite colors. Also, you can have things ingraved in the band (how awesome is this?) and I'm going to have her name and her birth date done. Words can't even begin to express how excited I am to be a mother and I can't wait to wear this ring everyday for the rest of my life ;)

Snow = one crafty mama bear

So we've been snowed in since Monday night and I had to find an outlet somewhere. Welp, after spending hours on Martha Stewart's website, I was inspired to my hand at making some baby shoes. Mind you, all I have is scrap fabric so I thought it would be a good idea to made a few test runs to see how easy it was to make them and if I even liked the way they turned out before investing money into the project. Anywho, this is what I've made so far ;)

Eeeep! We have a name!

After going through at least 5,000+ names the other night we finally came up with a name we love!

Everly Ryann Yates

We just love everything about it. It's simply, beautiful and unique!

Also, here is the latest photo of my baby bump ;)

New Beginnings

Welp, it's been forever since I've updated my blog. We finally have internet so I hope to be posting things at least a couple times a week and trying to catch up on everything that's happened.

The biggest news is that my hubby and I are expecting our first child in May! We found out that we're having a girl and we can't wait to welcome her into the world.

Here's a precious photo my mother-in-law took durring our last sonogram. Our little girl was sucking her thumb, just like her mama use to do. Aaron says she has my profile ;)

Favorites

Here are some things that I'm a little obsessed about.

Owls have been one of my favorite creatures for as long as I can remember.

Origami. A couple weeks ago I thought of the idea to get an origami tattoo... Well, it looks like someone has already beat me to it, but I can't say that I have changed my mind about it.

Bears... Of course.

My favorite artist for the past 6 years, Imogen Heap.

Anything Native American

I found all the images on weheartit and if you'd like to go to the direct link of an image, just click the photo.

That's it for now. Have a great weekend!

Love, Insiration & Influance

For the past couple days I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what I should post next because I have so many things to say! Anywho, here are my main loves, inspirations and influences in my life.

1. My husband is the most inspiring person I know. He has this ability to set his mind to something and excel faster then anyone I've ever met. His latest endeavor has been spinning fire and in the past year and a half, he has learned more then most people learn in 5.

2.My family would have to come next, they really mean the world to me and I couldn't have asked for a better childhood.

3. Our babies bring me so much joy. Miss Cali is our snuggle bug, all she wants to do is lay around with us and she purrs all the time, like a little freight train.

Miss Pika is a little rascal, she is always on an adventure and has a mind of her own.

I'm so thankful for the life I have and things are only getting better every day.

Onward!

Well, this is my first post in the blogging world. I've wanted to start a blog for a while now but I felt a bit lost on what to do.

I think the best way to approach this would be to treat this as if it was my journal.

This past weekend was so eventful and fun that I think I will make it my first post!

Friday night I finally achieved the hair color I have been working towards for the past 3 months now.

Here is the transformation.

Ta da! I'm so happy with it! It turned out exactly how I wanted it. After hard work of researching the best methods on doing it and my mom being awesome enough to help, I finally have the hair color I have always wanted.

Saturday after orientation for my new job, Aaron introduced me to my new favorite television show, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's so witty and hilarious. We watched the first and second season back to back. I loved it!

Later on Saturday night Aaron and I went to the store to get out of the house for a bit. We ended up leaving with an xbox 360 game called Danti's Inferno and a box of frozen blueberry waffles. Needless to say, as soon as we got home I popped those waffles in the oven while Aaron was getting the game ready. After eating our tasty waffles I watched Aaron play this amazing game. It's very dark and creepy but I loved watching him play it.

Sunday, I went to visit my lovely friend Danielle. We went up to Startbucks and talked for hours. I really love going out to her place and visiting. Later that night, she made some tasty lasagna with garlic cheese bread and we watched Julie & Julia. We got all mushy over the movie but it's such a heart warming film.

Monday, my brother came out to visit Aaron and I. After shopping, we all came back to the apartment and watched Nightmare on Elm Street while I was stitching Aaron's new poi. It was the first time for my brother and I to watch it all the way through and I thought it was awesome. I have to admit I am a sucker for old-school horror movies.

After Ethan left, we let our chinchilla, Pikachu out to roam the house. The first thing she does, is go straight to the cat food bowl.

I absolutely love the photo of Pika with my Aaron Bear.

Well, that's it for now. I hope I did something right with my first post!
